What happens during an O-Shot® treatment?
During the treatment, we will draw a small sample of your blood. Using a centrifuge, we will isolate in about 10 minutes. During that time, we will provide a numbing agent to the injection site to make the application easier. After the area is numbed we will inject it into the clitoris and upper vagina using a very thin needle.
Does the O-Shot® hurt?
Most of our patients do not report discomfort or pain. Because we apply a numbing agent to the injection site topically, it maximizes comfort. However, a small percentage of patients reported a stinging or pinching sensation. Patients can feel free to resume regular physical exercise and sexual activity immediately after treatment as there is no downtime or recovery time.
How long do the effects of the O-Shot® last?
The O-Shot lasts up to three years and even longer in some women. On average, patients choose to repeat the application every 18 months to maintain optimal results.
Are there any possible side effects or downsides?
Currently, no side effects have been reported from any procedure involving injecting back into someone’s body. However, the O-Shot should not be used by any patient who is pregnant, nursing, trying to get pregnant, have experienced hypersensitivity, have severe allergies, or have an infection. If you are currently experiencing any vaginal health problems, we advise you to wait until they are resolved to get the O-Shot.
Following the injection, some patients report mild soreness that lasts fewer than 24 hours. Any injection comes with a bit of soreness. There can also be a very small amount of bleeding in rare cases. Most of our patients return to work, exercise, and sexual activity the same day of their appointment.
How many O-Shots may I have?
Many women repeat the O-Shot treatment with an ongoing plan to tweak or renew their results. This all depends on your results and how you feel about it. A second dose can be administered after eight weeks.
Can I have the procedure done if I am pregnant?
The O-Shot should not be used by women who are pregnant, nursing, or attempting to become pregnant.
