What is Bioidentical Replacement Pellet Therapy?
Also known as BHRT, Bioidentical Replacement Therapy is the use of plant-based identical to those created by the human body to deliver a sustained release over time. This can be prescribed as pellets, creams, oral supplements, and other ways adapted to the patient to optimize results.
What are Pellet Therapy side effects?
Fortunately, unlike other forms of therapy, there are very few side effects. Only two percent of patients exhibit mild acne or facial hair, while fewer than one percent experience hair thinning. These mild side effects are also easily treatable.
How often will I need treatment?
Most patients require about four to six months of treatment for optimal results. Pellet insertions usually get inserted about three to four times per year.
What’s the difference between Bioidentical pellets and creams?
Because everyone is different, there are many different ways to apply this treatment. BHRT pellet therapy is injected subcutaneously. It rests beneath the skin and effectively eliminates the “roller coaster” effect that many patients feel with other BHRT creams.
What should I do before the procedure?
One week prior to your appointment, stop taking all blood thinners. These include NSAIDs, ibuprofen, aspirin, acetaminophen, naproxen sodium, and others. If you are currently prescribed these medicates, consult your physician. Women should have a current mammogram and Pap Smear.
How does therapy affect the immune system?
BHRT is a treatment that helps you balance your body’s levels. Because of this, it is also linked to strengthening your immune system.
Does BHRT help with stress?
Pellet and stress go together. Your body releases it by the adrenals to support its response to stress. If you experience extended periods of stress, it can create a production imbalance, resulting in physical and mental fatigue, nervous tension, poor memory, and irritability. BHRT helps provide your body with nutrients to help balance DHEA and cortisol levels that work together to help reduce your overall stress.
Does BHRT help create better sleep?
More recent studies have shown that consistent BHRT therapy can improve your quality of sleep. They include falling asleep easier, more REM sleep, less frequent waking up in the middle of the night, and more energy throughout the day.
How long does a Bioidentical Replacement Pellet take to work?
Everyone’s results will be different. About seven to ten days following your pellet insertion, the BHRT starts working. From there, most patients report symptom relief in as little as two to four weeks. However, full BHRT optimization takes up to six months. We will provide you with more detailed information following your appointment with us.
